So the tree will have roots so i have started working them in. I have also added in a knot which looks okay. Its bugging me that i keep seeing it as a big cheese string at the moment.. i really need some leaves in there! I did also extrude some edges out to make it look like the bark bulging but didnt look quite right, iv put it up anyway:
